Teemu Iivonen Finishes Second at Sonoma!

Teemu Iivonen is getting the hang of the oval side of iRacing and NASCAR but still is a serious force to reckon with on the road courses. In his first road course race with LRM, Iivonen came home second in the top split NiS race and scored 370 points, third most overall for the week. Iivonen thought he had a shot at the victory but had troubles during green flag pit stops and wound up coming home in the second positon overall. Iivonen was pleased with his result but hopes to get the victory at the next road course event.

Iivonen currently sits fourth in points overall in the NASCAR iRacing Series and looks to be a sure lock for earning a NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series License in 2014!

Nicholas Morse Wins at Kentucky!

Nicholas Morse has always struggled at Kentucky but finally broke through his streak of bad luck there by grabbing a win two weeks ago. Morse was able to lead half the laps en route to third win of 2014. Morse also needed the victory as he has been on the bubble for the NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series. With the victory, Morse was able to jump into the coveted Top-20 and currently sits 17th in points.

Morse hopes to continue the mid-season stretch of good luck as he heads to Daytona next week. Morse finished 20th at Daytona in the 2013 NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series race at Daytona and finished second in 2012 in the NASCAR iRacing.com Daytona 500.

Vinnie Sansone Wins at Bristol!

Vinnie Sansone has been running away with the iRacing Silver Crown Cup since the halfway point of the season on the virtual plains of Kansas. After three SOF sim races, he has taken his 'Crown to victory lane all three times. However, as the series sped into the Last Great Colosseum, second place Thomas Wargula was looking to stamp his ticket to victory lane and overtake Sansone in the points lead.

Sansone had a dismal starting position, as he took the grid in 12th. The only logical way for him to go was up; which he did. As the field crossed the quarter-distance mark, Vinnie found himself up into the sixth position, hunting down the #7 'Crown of Brett Waldrep. However, after catching Waldrep, a small piece of debris would turn Sansone's comeback race into a disaster. Excerpt by Brooks Westfall of iRacingNews.
